Finally ASUU Suspends Strike Conditionally

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a conditional suspension of it nationwide industrial action. ASUU’s decision followed a reconciliation meeting with a Federal Government team which held today (Monday) in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. The talks with the Federal Government team came after about two weeks following the union’s consultations with its various chapters on the terms of agreement earlier reached by both parties. The Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), University of Ibadan branch Monday withdrew the services of its members in compliance with the nationwide strike declared by the union. Also, in the strike were members of National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), and Senior Staff Academic of Universities (SSANU).
