NANS COMMENDS NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE OVER ARREST OF CHUKWUDI DUMEME ONUAMADIKE AKA (EVANS)
The umbrella body of Nigerian students under the auspices of National Association Of Nigerian Students has commended the positive effort of the Nigerian Police following the Arrest of the most wanted, vicious and highly notorious kidnap for ransom gang leader in Nigeria in the person of Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike aka EVANS alongside six of his commanders namely Nwosu Chikodi Chukwuma aka SUDO who is 42 years of age and the third in command of the gang, Suoyo Paul aka Nwana who is 42 years of age, Felix Chinemerem who is 36 years of age, Ikenna Emeka who is 28 years, Uchechukwu Amadi and his wife Ogechi Amadi.
The arms and ammunitions recovered by the Nigerian police force Include the following:
five (5) AK 47 riffles
One (1) Ak-49 riffle
Two (2)double barrel round
Two (2)English pistols
Fifty-nine (59)Ak 47magazine with ammunition
One thousand Two hundred and seventy two (1,272) live ammunition of AK 47(9mm)
Five (5) different plate numbers
The national spokesman of the over 40.1 million Nigerian students Comr. Okereafor Bestman Opeyemi who was accomplained to the lagos state police headquarter by the NANS Lagos state chairman comr Moses Samson Adewale Sms, the NANS National PRO made the commendation while inspecting the official parade of the suspects at the Lagos state police force headquarters Ikeja Lagos.
The parade which was made by the Nigerian Police Force Head quarter’s PRO CSP Jimoh Moshood and the Lagos state police PPRO Famous Cole pointed out that the notorious gang has been terrorising Lagos state and Nigeria at large with their evil acts of over 8years of kidnapping.
The arrest of the kidnapers was made possible with the positive efforts of the Joint Special Forces led by the intelligence response team, the Lagos state police command’s Anti-kidnapping unit and technical/intelligent Unit of the force under the supervision of the Lagos state commissioner of police Fatai Owoseni on the 10th of June, 2017.
NANS has charged the Nigerian Police to be proactive when receiving issues that affect Nigerian students, most especially the kidnapped Igbonla 6 students, among several others. The leader Evans confessed to have kidnapped over 236 people in times past.
Conclusively NANS has called on the police to ensure that the interrogation and preliminary investigation, of Evans and his Gangs that have already confessed to all the kidnappings linked to them and who has also made confessional statements to the various roles they have played in the commission of the crimes. NANS implores the Nigerian police force to charge the suspects to court on completion of investigations without delay as the arrested kidnapping gang has been perpetrating the inimical act for so long dated back over 10years.
